This week, our lesson centered around the book entitled Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site. Our students each received a copy of the book and also a Mega Bloks Junior Pack.
Concepts from the book:
-Vocabulary: building, bulldozer, cement mixer, crane truck, digging, dreaming, dump truck, excavator, hauling, lifting, loading, pushing, reaching, resting, scooping, snoring, snuggling, spinning, stretching, twirling, yawning
-Asking Questions: WHO and WHAT
-Compare/Contrast: Compare your child's routines at night with the routine of the trucks
Concepts from the Mega Bloks Junior Pack:
-building/constructing
-imaginative play
Activities of the day:
1. Parents + Preschoolers read the book
2. Parents + Preschoolers created pasta construction sites
3. Parents + Preschoolers explored the Mega Bloks Junior Packs
4. SLPs + Parents discussed strategies to address
their child’s speech & language goals in the home, and how to utilize the
book and puzzle to enhance these strategies.
