Curious George at the Aquarium


This week, our lesson centered around the book entitled Curious Georger at the Aquarium. Our students each received a copy of the book and also a Ocean Animal Puzzles.





Concepts from the book:
-Vocabulary: aquarium, Beluga Whale, catch, clam, crowd, exhibit, diving, escape, octopus, penguin, piranha, save, seahorse, slide, urchin, tickets
-Feelings/Emotions: curious, excited, surprised, angry
-Expanding Utterances: red octopus, large crab
-Similes: waddle like a penguin, swim like a fish

Concepts from the ocean puzzles:
-Ocean animals
-fine motor skills
-early math concepts

Activities of the day:
1. Parents + Preschoolers read the book
2. Parents + Preschoolers created
3. Parents + Preschoolers explored the ocean puzzles
4. SLPs + Parents discussed strategies to address their child’s speech & language goals in the home, and how to utilize the book and puzzle to enhance these strategies.
